The .jp domain is the official country-code top-level domain for Japan. It is managed by Japan Registry Services Co., Ltd., a company based in Tokyo. Any individual or organization with a physical address in Japan can register a .jp domain. There are several subcategories, such as .co.jp for companies and .ne.jp for network providers, but general registrations are open to residents. History
