Vercel's Three Layer Architecture

Vercel's Agent Stack is built on three products already in the company's portfolio. The AI SDK provides a single, model-agnostic interface for calling any large language model, image generator, or speech model. Developers switch models by changing one string, not rewriting code. The AI Gateway acts as a content delivery network for tokens, routing calls from a single endpoint, failing over when a provider goes down, and tracking cost and usage across all providers. Vercel says it charges no markup on model pricing; users pay the provider's price and use their own API keys.
