Overview
RFC 900, “Assigned Numbers”, is a Historic document published in June 1984 by J.K. Reynolds, J. Postel. It obsoletes RFC 870. It has been obsoleted by RFC 923 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This RFC specifies parameter values use in the Internet family of protocols, such as network numbers, well known ports, protocol types, and version numbers. This memo is an official status report on the protocol parameters used in the Internet protocol system. See RFC-990 and 997.

A specification that has been superseded or is otherwise no longer recommended for use.
