Assigned numbers
RFC 923, “Assigned numbers”, is a Historic document published in October 1984 by J.K. Reynolds, J. Postel. It obsoletes RFC 900. It has been obsoleted by RFC 943 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This RFC documents the currently assigned values from several series of numbers used in network protocol implementations. This edition of Assigned Numbers obsoletes RFC-900 and earlier editions. This memo is an official status report on the numbers used in protocols in the ARPA-Internet community. See RFC-990, and 997.
What “Historic” means
A specification that has been superseded or is otherwise no longer recommended for use.
