Overview
RFC 1010, “Assigned numbers”, is a Historic document published in May 1987 by J.K. Reynolds, J. Postel. It obsoletes RFC 990. It has been obsoleted by RFC 1060 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This memo is an official status report on the numbers used in protocols in the Internet community. It documents the currently assigned values from several series of numbers including link, socket, port, and protocol, used in network protocol implementations.

A specification that has been superseded or is otherwise no longer recommended for use.
