RFC 990, “Assigned numbers”, is a Historic document published in November 1986 by J.K. Reynolds, J. Postel. It obsoletes RFC 960. It has since been updated by RFC 997. It has been obsoleted by RFC 1010 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This Network Working Group Request for Comments documents the currently assigned values from several series of numbers used in network protocol implementations. This memo is an official status report on the numbers used in protocols in the ARPA-Internet community. See RFC-997. Obsoletes RFC-960, 943, 923 and 900.
What “Historic” means
A specification that has been superseded or is otherwise no longer recommended for use.
