Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Gets Web Search, Managed Knowledge Bases, and Continuous Learning

AWS has released a set of updates to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, the platform for building and managing AI agents. The new capabilities include a fully managed web search tool, a managed knowledge base service, and features for continuous learning and production governance. The updates were announced across multiple AWS blog posts in early 2025.

The web search feature, announced on the AWS News Blog, allows agents to ground their responses in current, cited web knowledge without data leaving the customer's secured AWS environment. This eliminates the need for developers to manually integrate and manage web search infrastructure.

Managed Knowledge Base and Agentic Retriever

Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Base simplifies building enterprise retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines. It provides native data connectors, Smart Parsing for automatic multi-format data preparation, and an Agentic Retriever for complex multi-step queries. The service is integrated with AgentCore Gateway, allowing developers to focus on business outcomes rather than infrastructure management.
