RFC 2818, “HTTP Over TLS”, is an Informational document published in May 2000 by E. Rescorla. It has since been updated by RFC 5785, RFC 7230. It has been obsoleted by RFC 9110 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This memo describes how to use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) connections over the Internet. This memo provides information for the Internet community.
