RFC 2256, “A Summary of the X.500 User Schema for use with LDAPv3”, is a Proposed Standard document published in December 1997 by M. Wahl. It has since been updated by RFC 3377. It has been obsoleted by RFC 4510, RFC 4512, RFC 4517, RFC 4519, RFC 4523 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This document provides an overview of the attribute types and object classes defined by the ISO and ITU-T committees in the X.500 documents, in particular those intended for use by directory clients. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
