RFC 2003, “IP Encapsulation within IP”, is a Proposed Standard document published in October 1996 by C. Perkins. It has since been updated by RFC 3168, RFC 6864. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This document specifies a method by which an IP datagram may be encapsulated (carried as payload) within an IP datagram. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
