RFC 1416, “Telnet Authentication Option”, is an Experimental document published in February 1993 by D. Borman. It obsoletes RFC 1409. It has been obsoleted by RFC 2941 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.

Abstract

This RFC 1416 replaces RFC 1409, which has an important typographical error in the example on page 6 (one occurance of "REPLY" should be "IS"). This memo defines an Experimental Protocol for the Internet community.
