RFC 1232, “Definitions of managed objects for the DS1 Interface type”, is a Proposed Standard document published in May 1991 by F. Baker, C.P. Kolb. It has since been updated by RFC 1239. It has been obsoleted by RFC 1406 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This memo defines an experimental portion of the Management Information Base (MIB) for use with network management protocols in TCP/IP-based internets. In particular, it defines objects for managing DS1 Interface objects. Note to implementors: a companion document describes DS3 Managed Objects; implementors looking at this one should also reference that.
What “Proposed Standard” means
An entry-level standards-track specification: stable, peer-reviewed and a solid basis for implementation, though it may still evolve before becoming an Internet Standard.
