RFC 1138, “Mapping between X.400 / ISO 10021 and RFC 822”, is an Experimental document published in December 1989 by S.E. Kille. It updates RFC 822, RFC 987, RFC 1026. It has since been updated by RFC 1148. It has been obsoleted by RFC 1327, RFC 2156 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
Ths RFC suggests an electronic mail protocol mapping for the Internet community and UK Academic Community, and requests discussion and suggestions for improvements. This memo does not specify an Internet standard. This memo updates RFCs 822, 987, and 1026.
