It is a branded TLD meant for Temasek and its portfolio of businesses. Registration is restricted to entities affiliated with or authorized by Temasek Holdings. The domain is not open for general public registration. It was delegated to the IANA root zone in January 2015, following its registration in late 2014. The Chinese characters directly represent the Temasek name.
