.jcp domain extension

.jcp was a generic top-level domain intended for use by JCP Media, Inc., the company behind the JCPenney department store chain. It was delegated in March 2016 but never appeared in the root zone. The domain was revoked in November 2020, just over four years after its initial registration. Because it never went live, there were no active websites or email services under .jcp. The domain was one of several brand TLDs that companies applied for during ICANN's new gTLD program, but it never reached the point of being used by the public. Today, .jcp exists only as a historical record of an abandoned attempt at a branded internet namespace.
