.tp
country-code
.tp was the country code top level domain for Portuguese Timor, now East Timor. It was originally delegated in 1997 but is no longer active in the root zone. The domain was managed by an unassigned sponsor and was eventually retired in 2015 when East Timor transitioned to its current ccTLD, .tl. Because .tp is no longer delegated, new registrations are not possible, and existing domains under .tp are no longer resolvable. The TLD serves as a historical artifact of the internet's early days in the region.
History
The .tp domain was registered on May 9, 1997, for Portuguese Timor. Following East Timor's independence and the adoption of .tl as its official ccTLD, .tp was removed from the root zone on January 26, 2015. The IANA record notes that the domain is not present in the root zone at this time.
Eligibility and restrictions
