There are no specific eligibility restrictions on who can register .group domains, so almost anyone can use them. The domain was originally delegated in 2015 to Romeo Town, LLC before moving to its current operator in 2018 as part of a larger batch of 196 domain transfers. Identity Digital, which manages hundreds of TLDs, runs the registry today. The .group extension works well for any collective entity that wants a short, descriptive web address.
