About .eu

.eu is the country-code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the European Union, reflecting the EU's status as a recognized entity in the DNS. It is managed by EURid vzw, a nonprofit organization based in Diegem, Belgium. The domain is open to any natural person resident in the European Union, any organization established in the EU, and any entity without a physical presence that is based in the EU. There are no restrictions on the number of domains per registrant, but registrants must provide accurate contact data. .eu has been active since its delegation in April 2005, offering a unified online identity for the European community. The registry supports IDN for characters from EU official languages.
