Primate Labs Launches Geekbench 7 With Larger Datasets, New Media Tests, and CUDA Support

Primate Labs released Geekbench 7 on July 24, 2026, marking the biggest overhaul of its popular benchmarking tool. The update introduces larger, more demanding datasets for CPUs and GPUs, new video and audio encoding and decoding tests, and a redesigned multi-core test.

According to Tom's Hardware, Geekbench 7 includes AI-focused benchmarks and CUDA support for Nvidia GPUs, alongside more realistic CPU and GPU workloads. The Verge reports that the software otherwise looks and acts like Geekbench 6, but under the hood the datasets are significantly larger.

The new version adds dedicated media encoding and decoding tests for video and audio codecs, reflecting modern usage patterns. The multi-core test has been redesigned to better measure parallel performance across all cores, moving away from simpler scaling metrics.

Existing Geekbench 6 users can upgrade at a discounted rate, though the company has not specified the discount amount.
