Anthropic launches Claude Tag, a persistent AI teammate that learns and works autonomously inside Slack

Anthropic on Tuesday launched Claude Tag, a new product that embeds its most advanced AI model directly inside Slack as a persistent, shared teammate. Available today in beta for Claude Enterprise and Team customers, the product replaces Anthropic's existing Claude in Slack app.

With Claude Tag, any team member can delegate work by simply typing @Claude. The agent reads the room, joins threads, remembers context, and moves tasks forward autonomously. VentureBeat reported that this represents Anthropic's most aggressive move yet to colonize the enterprise collaboration layer.

How Claude Tag changes Slack collaboration

Unlike a typical chatbot, Claude Tag is always on. It monitors channels, learns from ongoing conversations, and builds institutional knowledge over time. It can be assigned tasks that span multiple messages and users, and it retains context across sessions.
