Accenture announced on June 18, 2026, that it will acquire a majority stake in industrial cybersecurity firm Dragos and fully acquire asset discovery company runZero and firmware analysis specialist NetRise. The combined transaction is valued at roughly $4.1 billion.

Dragos, known for its vendor-neutral OT threat detection platform, is valued at $3.25 billion in the deal. The three companies together are projected to deliver approximately $208 million in annual recurring revenue as of June 2026, a 53% increase from the prior year.

A Unified Platform for OT Visibility

Accenture plans to keep Dragos as an independent business, with runZero and NetRise operating under Dragos leadership. Dragos CEO Robert Lee will lead the combined entity. The acquisitions bring together three distinct capabilities:

  • Dragos: OT threat detection and industrial cybersecurity platform.
  • runZero: Advanced asset discovery, exposure assessment, and attack surface intelligence, founded by Metasploit creator HD Moore.
  • NetRise: Deep firmware analysis and software supply chain visibility, founded by former US Marine Thomas Pace.

Accenture Chair and CEO Julie Sweet said the move expands the company’s addressable market and creates a platform-led growth opportunity in one of the most critical cybersecurity challenges clients face. The deals are expected to close in August and September 2026.

Implications for Infrastructure Security

The acquisition comes as critical infrastructure operators face mounting pressure to reduce what security experts call “security debt”, the accumulation of unpatched vulnerabilities and exposed systems. A recent Dark Reading analysis noted that teams digging out of security debt need to answer two questions: which vulnerabilities are exposed, and how long should they stay that way. The Dragos-runZero-NetRise combination aims to provide that visibility across OT, IT, IoT, and medical devices.

Separately, Cloudflare marked the 12th anniversary of Project Galileo, its program to protect civil society organizations from cyberattacks. The company released its first comprehensive report analyzing attacks against these groups, highlighting the persistent threat to infrastructure that supports human rights and democratic processes. The report underscores the broader need for specialized security platforms like the one Accenture is building.

Accenture’s move also follows ServiceNow’s $7.75 billion acquisition of Armis, signaling a competitive race to dominate asset-centric security platforms. With runZero’s discovery, NetRise’s firmware intelligence, and Dragos’ OT platform, Accenture is assembling the building blocks for a comprehensive solution. The deals are subject to standard price adjustments and regulatory approvals.
