About XWiki
XWiki is a Java-based wiki engine and collaborative platform that goes beyond simple wikis. It lets you store structured data, build custom applications on top of wiki pages, and manage documents with WYSIWYG editing. You can define data types, create forms, and run reports without coding if you want, or extend everything with Groovy, Velocity, or Java.
The platform supports LDAP/Active Directory integration, has a powerful permissions system, and includes version control for every page. It runs on any servlet container (Tomcat, Jetty) and works with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and HSQLDB. The extension manager lets you install macros, skins, and applications from the repository. XWiki is maintained by the XWiki SAS company and the open-source community.
