Valkey

Valkey is an in-memory key-value store that started as a fork of Redis after its license changed. It is designed to be a drop-in replacement, so existing Redis clients and configurations work with it out of the box. Valkey supports the same rich set of data structures: strings, hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets, streams, geospatial indexes, and HyperLogLog. It also offers built-in replication, persistence through RDB snapshots and AOF logs, cluster mode for horizontal scaling, and Sentinel for automatic failover. The project is governed under the Linux Foundation and licensed under the permissive BSD-3-Clause. This open governance model gives the community a voice in its development and ensures it stays free and open. Valkey is written in C and runs on Linux and other Unix-like systems. It is widely used for caching, session management, real-time analytics, message queues, and as a fast primary database for applications that don't need full relational features. Performance is on par with the original Redis, and the project has already released version 8.0 with improvements in memory efficiency and replication.
