About Tube Archivist
Tube Archivist downloads and stores a full copy of your subscribed YouTube content on your own server. It grabs video files, audio tracks, thumbnails, comments, and captions so you never lose access to anything. The web interface lets you browse and search all archived media by title, description, channel, or even the text from captions.
Built with Python and Django, it spins up inside a Docker container and stores data in a SQLite or PostgreSQL database. It integrates with yt-dlp for the actual downloading and uses a Redis queue to manage large jobs without bogging down your system. You can set up automatic periodic scans for new videos from specific channels or playlists.
