About Technitium DNS

Technitium DNS is a lightweight but full-featured DNS server that runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS, as well as in Docker containers. It was created by Technitium Software, the same company behind the popular Technitium MAC Address Changer. The server supports all standard DNS record types, along with advanced features like DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH), DNS-over-TLS (DoT), and DNS-over-QUIC (DoQ). You can use it as a recursive resolver, an authoritative name server, or a forwarding proxy. Built-in ad blocking works via blocklists you can subscribe to. The web-based admin interface makes configuration and monitoring straightforward, even for non-experts. DNSSEC validation and signing are both supported. There is also a REST API for automation and integration with other tools. Logs are detailed and can be exported. Because it is open source (GPL v3), you can audit the code and customize it. Technitium DNS is a solid choice for anyone who wants more control than public resolvers but does not want to mess with BIND's complexity.
