Seafile

Seafile is an open-source file sync and share platform with built-in backup and wiki features.

About Seafile

Seafile gives you a private cloud for file syncing, sharing, and collaboration. It handles version control, file locking, and encrypted libraries so you can keep data on your own servers. The platform supports Windows, Linux, and macOS clients, plus mobile apps for iOS and Android. File access works through WebDAV, and there are integrations with OnlyOffice and Collabora for online document editing.

Seafile includes a knowledge base tool called SeaDoc, which functions as a simple wiki. You can also use it for website publishing by serving static content directly from a library. The software is written in Python and C, with the community edition being fully open source. Backups can be automated via the command-line client or through the built-in snapshot feature.

Seafile targets teams and enterprises that need self-hosted file sync with strong security. The community edition is free under the Apache 2.0 license. There is also a paid Professional edition with LDAP integration, full-text search, and antivirus scanning. The project is developed by the Beijing-based company Seafile Ltd.
