SCM Manager

Self-hosted Git, Mercurial, and Subversion management with a web UI and REST API.

About SCM Manager

SCM Manager is a self-hosted platform for managing Git, Mercurial, and Subversion repositories under one roof. It gives you a unified web interface to create, browse, and administer repos without juggling multiple tools. The built-in authentication hooks into LDAP, Active Directory, and OAuth, so you can plug it into existing directory services without extra glue code.

It supports fine-grained permission controls through group and user roles, plus a plugin system that extends functionality for code reviews, mirroring, and CI/CD integration. There are official plugins for Jenkins, TeamCity, and others out of the box. The underlying REST API lets you script workflows or integrate with your own toolchain, and the repository viewer includes syntax highlighting for over 150 languages.

SCM Manager is open source under the BSD license and written in Java. It runs on any OS with a Java runtime, and there is a Docker image available for quick deployment. It is a good fit for teams that want control over their source management without paying per-seat fees or relying on a cloud service.
