About ResourceSpace

ResourceSpace is a web-based digital asset management system that also functions as a backup solution for media files. It helps teams store, organize, and retrieve images, videos, documents, and other assets while maintaining version history and access controls. The platform acts as a centralized repository, ensuring your digital files are safely backed up and easily recoverable.

The software supports automatic file versioning, metadata tagging, and full-text search across assets. It integrates with cloud storage providers like Amazon S3 and Google Cloud Storage for offsite backups, and runs on Linux servers with Apache, MySQL, and PHP. ResourceSpace is developed by Montala Ltd and offers both self-hosted and cloud-hosted options.

This tool is ideal for organizations that need to manage large media libraries while keeping backups organized. It is open source under a BSD-style license, with paid support and hosting plans available. Notable users include universities, museums, and government agencies that require reliable asset storage and backup workflows.
