About OliveTin

OliveTin is a lightweight web UI that lets you execute predefined shell commands and scripts with a single click. It gives non technical team members or remote workers a safe way to trigger server tasks like backups, deployments, or database maintenance without handing out SSH keys. The interface runs in any browser and updates in real time as jobs complete.

You define actions in a YAML config file, each pointing to a shell command or script. OliveTin supports running commands as different users, setting timeouts, and capturing output logs. It integrates with any Linux server and can be containerized via Docker. The project is written in Go, so the binary is small and has no external dependencies. A built in cron scheduler lets you automate recurring tasks directly from the same dashboard.

OliveTin is open source under the AGPLv3 license. It is ideal for small teams, homelab operators, or sysadmins who want a read only control panel for routine operations. The project was created by James Read and has an active community on GitHub with regular releases.
