About Loomio
Loomio supports multiple voting methods including simple yes/no/abstain, ranked choice, score polls, and consensus checks. Discussions can be kept private or made public. Integrations are available with Slack, email, and a REST API. It runs as a web application on your own server or as a hosted service. The codebase is written in Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL, and the project has been actively developed since 2012 by the worker-owned cooperative Loomio Cooperative Limited.
Single sign-on via Google, Microsoft, or SAML is supported for larger organizations. The platform itself is free to self-host under the AGPL license. For those who want a hosted instance, Loomio offers a paid SaaS tier with optional support contracts and priority features. Notable users include the New Zealand Green Party, Oxfam, and the Mozilla Foundation.
