Kibitzr

Kibitzr is a lightweight change detection and notification tool that watches web pages and files for updates.

About Kibitzr

Kibitzr monitors web pages, local files, and command outputs for changes, then sends alerts through email, Slack, Telegram, or other channels. It runs as a persistent daemon or a one-off check, making it useful for tracking price drops, document updates, or site availability. Configuration lives in a simple YAML file, so you can set up watchers without writing code.

It supports multiple checkers including CSS selectors, XPath, regular expressions, and full page diffs. Notifications can go to over a dozen services like Pushover, IRC, or custom webhooks. Kibitzr is written in Python and works on Linux, macOS, and Windows. The project is maintained by a small open source community and has no external dependencies beyond Python 3.
