About Inboxen

Inboxen lets you create as many unique email addresses as you want, each with its own inbox. You can use these addresses for signing up to websites, newsletters, or any service that might send you unwanted mail later. The idea is simple: one inbox per service, so if one gets spammy, you just abandon it.

The software is written in Python using the Django framework and stores emails locally. It supports IMAP access so you can pull mail into your regular client, and it offers a web interface for browsing inboxes. You can self-host it on Linux or use the public instance at inboxen.org. The project is maintained by a small group of volunteers and has been around since 2015.

This tool is ideal for privacy-conscious users who want to compartmentalize their digital identity without relying on a third-party service. It is completely free and open source under the AGPLv3 license. The public instance has no ads or limits on inbox creation, making it one of the more generous disposable email options available.
