About HostBill
HostBill is a commercial billing and client management platform designed specifically for hosting providers, cloud service providers, and digital businesses. It competes directly with WHMCS and Blesta as a complete solution for managing customer accounts, billing, provisioning, and support.
The platform handles the full customer lifecycle: client registration, order processing, payment collection, service provisioning, usage billing, invoice generation, and support tickets. It supports recurring billing, usage-based billing, one-time charges, and complex pricing models that combine fixed and variable components.
HostBill's automation capabilities are extensive. It integrates with cPanel/WHM, Plesk, DirectAdmin, and other hosting panels for automatic account provisioning and management. Cloud server provisioning is supported for major platforms including OpenStack, Proxmox, VMware, and various public cloud APIs. Domain registration, SSL certificate provisioning, and DNS management can also be automated.
The module marketplace offers hundreds of integrations for payment gateways, hosting panels, domain registrars, cloud providers, and third-party services. The API allows custom integrations for services not covered by existing modules.
One of HostBill's differentiators is its built-in support for complex service types beyond traditional hosting: VoIP, IPTV, streaming services, SaaS products, and digital goods. This makes it attractive for providers selling a diverse product portfolio.
The user interface for both administrators and customers is modern and customizable. White-labeling support allows providers to brand the entire platform as their own. The support ticket system, knowledge base, and customer portal are all included without additional modules.
HostBill is licensed per installation with a one-time fee plus optional annual renewals for updates and support. This pricing model can be more cost-effective than WHMCS for larger operations since there are no per-account charges.
