About Hoppscotch Community Edition

Hoppscotch Community Edition is a free, open-source alternative to Postman for API testing and development. It runs entirely in the browser or as a desktop app, supporting REST, GraphQL, WebSocket, Server-Sent Events, and Socket.IO requests. You can create collections, manage environment variables, and view response details like headers, cookies, and timings.

The tool integrates with GitHub for syncing collections and supports pre-request scripts and tests written in JavaScript. It also includes a real-time collaboration feature for teams. Hoppscotch is built with Vue.js and Nuxt, and the desktop version uses Tauri for a native experience on Linux, Windows, and macOS.

Ideal for developers who want a lightweight, self-hostable API client without vendor lock-in. The project is MIT-licensed and maintained by the community. Notable: it was originally created by Andrew Bastin and is now used by thousands of developers for rapid API prototyping.
