About Healthchecks

Healthchecks is a monitoring service for cron jobs and other scheduled tasks. It listens for HTTP pings from your scripts and sends alerts when a ping doesn't arrive on time or fails. This makes it easy to know if your backups, billing scripts, or data syncs have stopped running.

It supports email, Slack, PagerDuty, Pushover, and many other notification channels. You can self-host the open source version on Linux or use the hosted service at healthchecks.io. The project is written in Python/Django and uses PostgreSQL or MySQL. Integrations include webhooks, SMS, and custom integrations via its API.

Healthchecks is ideal for sysadmins and developers who need reliable uptime monitoring for automated tasks. The self-hosted version is free under an MIT license. The hosted service offers a free tier for up to 20 checks, with paid plans for more. It is used by thousands of teams to monitor billing automation, server maintenance, and ETL pipelines.
