About Filestash

Filestash is a self-hosted web file manager that acts as a bridge between your browser and your storage. You can connect it to FTP servers, SFTP, WebDAV, S3 buckets, local filesystems, Git repos, and more. It presents everything in a clean, modern interface that works on any device.

The software supports audio and video streaming, image previews with an integrated editor, and code syntax highlighting for text files. It can be deployed as a Docker container on Linux or any system with Docker. Filestash is backed by an Office suite viewer and offers shared links with password protection. It was created by Mickael Kerjean.

This tool is best for sysadmins or teams who need one unified web portal for multiple storage backends without installing a client app. It is released under the AGPL-3.0 license, making it free to self-host and modify. Notable for its plugin architecture and ability to serve as a lightweight cloud file browser behind a reverse proxy.
