About ClickHouse
ClickHouse is built for speed. It ingests data in real time and runs analytical queries across billions of rows in milliseconds. The columnar storage engine compresses data heavily, which cuts storage costs and speeds up scans. You can query it with standard SQL, including window functions and aggregations. It supports replication and sharding out of the box, so you can scale horizontally across multiple servers. There are integrations for Kafka, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and object stores like S3. The project was originally developed by Yandex for internal web analytics and open sourced in 2016. It has since grown a large community and is used by Uber, eBay, Cloudflare, and others for observability, product analytics, and logging. You can run it on Linux, deploy via Docker, or use the managed ClickHouse Cloud service. The documentation is thorough and includes tutorials, reference guides, and performance tuning advice.
