About Chibisafe
Chibisafe is an open source file upload service you run on your own hardware. It gives you a web interface where you can drop any file type, generate shareable links, and store everything on your own server instead of a third party cloud. The project started as a personal tool for sharing screenshots and media within a Discord community and grew into a full featured uploader with album support and URL shortening.
The software runs on Linux using Node.js and can use SQLite or PostgreSQL for its database. It supports file expiration dates, password protection on uploads, and direct integration with ShareX and other screenshot tools. The admin panel lets you set storage limits per user, view server statistics, and export data for backup purposes. Files are stored in the local filesystem by default with no external storage locks.
