Azure Migrate

Azure Migrate is a Microsoft tool that walks you through migrating your on-premises infrastructure to Azure. It starts with discovery across VMware, Hyper-V, physical servers, and other cloud providers. From there, you get built-in assessments that size your VMs, databases, and web apps for Azure readiness. The tool also estimates monthly costs so you can budget before you move. For actual migration, Azure Migrate supports lift-and-shift rehosting for VMs, agent-based or agentless replication, and database migrations using Azure Database Migration Service. The web app migration assistant can even assess and migrate ASP.NET and PHP apps. You can track everything from a single dashboard and group servers into migration projects. The platform covers discovery through to cutover and post-migration monitoring. Microsoft has built in integration with Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery, so you can set up disaster recovery as part of the same process. This is the official migration service if you are standardizing on Azure and want a guided path from assessment to production.
