About Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud
Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is an integrated backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity platform designed specifically for managed service providers and hosting companies. It combines data protection with anti-malware, vulnerability assessment, and patch management in a single agent and console.
The backup capabilities cover full-image server backups, file-level backups, database backups (MySQL, MSSQL, Exchange), application-aware backups, and cloud workload protection. Backups can target local storage, Acronis Cloud (their own data centers), or third-party cloud storage. Incremental backup with deduplication and compression keeps storage costs reasonable even for large deployments.
Disaster recovery features allow spinning up a failed server as a cloud VM within minutes, providing business continuity even during hardware failures. The run-from-cloud capability means customers can be back online while the physical infrastructure is being repaired.
For hosting providers, Acronis offers a multi-tenant management console that integrates with WHMCS and other billing platforms. Providers can create backup plans, monitor all customer backups from one dashboard, and bill for storage usage automatically. The Plesk extension provides direct integration for Plesk-based hosting.
The cybersecurity layer includes anti-malware scanning, URL filtering, exploit prevention, and vulnerability assessments. While not a replacement for dedicated security tools like Imunify360, it adds a useful security layer alongside the backup functionality.
Pricing is consumption-based through the partner program, meaning providers pay for the storage and features they actually use and can mark up the pricing for their customers.
