RFC 9069, “Support for Local RIB in the BGP Monitoring Protocol”, is a Proposed Standard document published in February 2022 by T. Evens, S. Bayraktar, M. Bhardwaj, P. Lucente. It updates RFC 7854. It has since been updated by RFC 9736. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
The BGP Monitoring Protocol (BMP) defines access to local Routing Information Bases (RIBs). This document updates BMP (RFC 7854) by adding access to the Local Routing Information Base (Loc-RIB), as defined in RFC 4271. The Loc-RIB contains the routes that have been selected by the local BGP speaker's Decision Process.
What “Proposed Standard” means
An entry-level standards-track specification: stable, peer-reviewed and a solid basis for implementation, though it may still evolve before becoming an Internet Standard.
