RFC 8999, “Version-Independent Properties of QUIC”, is a Proposed Standard document published in May 2021 by M. Thomson. It has since been updated by RFC 9368. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This document defines the properties of the QUIC transport protocol that are common to all versions of the protocol.
What “Proposed Standard” means
An entry-level standards-track specification: stable, peer-reviewed and a solid basis for implementation, though it may still evolve before becoming an Internet Standard.
