Algorithm Identifiers for the HMAC-based Extract-and-Expand Key Derivation Function
RFC 8619, “Algorithm Identifiers for the HMAC-based Extract-and-Expand Key Derivation Function”, is a Proposed Standard document published in June 2019 by R. Housley. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
RFC 5869 specifies the HMAC-based Extract-and-Expand Key Derivation Function (HKDF) algorithm. This document assigns algorithm identifiers to the HKDF algorithm when used with three common one-way hash functions.
What “Proposed Standard” means
