RFC 7432, “BGP MPLS-Based Ethernet VPN”, is a Proposed Standard document published in February 2015 by A. Sajassi, R. Aggarwal, N. Bitar, A. Isaac, J. Uttaro, J. Drake, W. Henderickx. It has since been updated by RFC 8584, RFC 9161, RFC 9572, RFC 9573, RFC 9746. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This document describes procedures for BGP MPLS-based Ethernet VPNs (EVPN). The procedures described here meet the requirements specified in RFC 7209 -- "Requirements for Ethernet VPN (EVPN)".

An entry-level standards-track specification: stable, peer-reviewed and a solid basis for implementation, though it may still evolve before becoming an Internet Standard.
