Internet Key Exchange Protocol Version 2 Message Fragmentation
RFC 7383, “Internet Key Exchange Protocol Version 2 Message Fragmentation”, is a Proposed Standard document published in November 2014 by V. Smyslov. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This document describes a way to avoid IP fragmentation of large Internet Key Exchange Protocol version 2 (IKEv2) messages. This allows IKEv2 messages to traverse network devices that do not allow IP fragments to pass through.
What “Proposed Standard” means
An entry-level standards-track specification: stable, peer-reviewed and a solid basis for implementation, though it may still evolve before becoming an Internet Standard.
