MPLS Label Stack Encoding
RFC 3032, “MPLS Label Stack Encoding”, is a Proposed Standard document published in January 2001 by E. Rosen, D. Tappan, G. Fedorkow, Y. Rekhter, D. Farinacci, T. Li, A. Conta. It has since been updated by RFC 3270, RFC 3443, RFC 4182, RFC 5129, RFC 5332, RFC 5462, RFC 5586, RFC 7274, RFC 9017. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This document specifies the encoding to be used by an LSR in order to transmit labeled packets on Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) data links, on LAN data links, and possibly on other data links as well. This document also specifies rules and procedures for processing the various fields of the label stack encoding. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
