RFC 2782, “A DNS RR for specifying the location of services”, is a Proposed Standard document published in February 2000 by A. Gulbrandsen, P. Vixie, L. Esibov. It obsoletes RFC 2052. It has since been updated by RFC 6335, RFC 8553. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
