Overview
RFC 2672, “Non-Terminal DNS Name Redirection”, is a Proposed Standard document published in August 1999 by M. Crawford. It has since been updated by RFC 4592, RFC 6604. Abstract
This document defines a new DNS Resource Record called "DNAME", which provides the capability to map an entire subtree of the DNS name space to another domain. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
