RFC 2472, “IP Version 6 over PPP”, is a Proposed Standard document published in December 1998 by D. Haskin, E. Allen. It obsoletes RFC 2023. It has been obsoleted by RFC 5072, RFC 5172 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This document defines the method for transmission of IP Version 6 packets over PPP links as well as the Network Control Protocol (NCP) for establishing and configuring the IPv6 over PPP. It also specifies the method of forming IPv6 link-local addresses on PPP links. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
