RFC 2137, “Secure Domain Name System Dynamic Update”, is a Proposed Standard document published in April 1997 by D. Eastlake 3rd. It updates RFC 1035. It has been obsoleted by RFC 3007 — refer to the newer document for the authoritative version. The canonical text is published by the RFC Editor.
Abstract
This memo describes how to use DNSSEC digital signatures covering requests and data to secure updates and restrict updates to those authorized to perform them as indicated by the updater's possession of cryptographic keys. [STANDARDS-TRACK]
